Evelyn Hofer
London

London Perceived (1962) is the first of three books that Evelyn Hofer published with her friend V. S. Pritchett. Most of the photographs are carefully balanced in their composition. The London-series contains views of the city as well as partially humorous portraits. The protagonists of her photographs are reminiscent of August Sander's photographic study Antlitz der Zeit in their charisma. Hofer was fascinated and influenced by August Sander's portraits.
